Business Summary

Nordic Skater is an importer and retailer of specialty Nordic skiing and skating outdoor recreation equipment. Headquartered in Norwich, VT , it has both a retail shop and assembly/distribution facility.

 

Problem Definition

The client requested help with employee hiring and retention both in the short-term and the long-term. He was also interested in order fulfillment efficiency.

 

TSCS Recommendation

The team gathered data through interviews then designed spreadsheets to track employee functions and time requirements to determine the optimal number of employees and task allocation between employees and owner. They researched local job posting resources and provided recommendations on recruiting and motivating employees with an interest in retail and outdoor winter recreation.
