Everybody Wins! Vermont creates mentoring relationships between volunteers and students to encourage a love of reading and language in elementary school students.
Each mentor commits to meeting with his or her mentee once a week during the school year. Volunteers choose a day of the week that works with their schedule to travel to the White River Junction School for a half hour during the students' lunch period. While at the school, mentors and mentees take turns reading out loud, completing crossword puzzles, or offering encouragement to the student.
